Please Note:
The function of the Block Island Fog Signal has changed.
The signal now only operates via remote activation.
To activate, boaters must key their microphone
on VHF channel 79 (156.975MHz) 5 times in succession.
This will activate the sound signal
and it will continue for the next 30-45 minutes.

On 8 February 2010, the U.S. Coast Guard
began a decommIssioning process
of the LORAN-C system within the U.S.
and LORAN UNITS WILL NOT WORK.
